ESI and FocalPoint to give paper on FDA FCN Compliant Food Packaging Using UV/EB at CPP Expo
Chicago, IL - November 12, 2008
ESI's Im Rangwalla along with Ron Golden, Founder and Principle of Focalpoint Consulting, will present a paper on the FDA FCN Compliant Food Packaging using EB/UV Curing technologies at the upcoming Pack Expo/CPP Expo on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
The RadTech Sustainability Task Force will provide a report on recent quantitative analyses of radiation curing case studies which confirm that EB and UV curing are capable of substantial reductions in energy demand, fossil fuel usage and greenhouse gas emissions. Further EB and UV curing technologies also reduce transportation costs and emissions when compared with conventional heat-set technologies. The task force is working with industry, academic and government partners on projects to develop additional data on the sustainability characteristics of electron beam (EB) and ultraviolet (UV) curing. The results will be used to expand the life-cycle analyses, and to develop a practical working model for technological comparisons.
